Our tactics last night.

What was with all the long, floated balls over the top last night ? They are so easy to defend for a half decent centre back. We look a far better team when were running at teams and passing the ball around, in the first half we looked decent with some good movement and players running off each other, in the 2nd half especially we were just hitting long, hopeful balls down field, no wonder Fulham had so much ball in the 2nd half as we were most of the time giving it straight back to them.

Quite right imo, As I said earlier to play that game you need a couple of really quick front men to play those balls into space for them to run onto, not just hit and hope either way.

Maybe fatigue kicked in during the second half. I thought Roweet got it spot on last night, we stopped them getting their passing game going. If we went gunho we would have been soundly beaten. The oppo are welcome to the ball when we defend like that, they hardly had a sniff, did you not notice how high up the field we pressed them? or would you have prefered we sit back in our own half and wait for the inevitable? Rowett sets his teams up according to the oppo's strengths, he got it spot on last night.

Agreed but he needed to come up with a better selection and formation compared with Sunday where he got that all wrong with AOB and Smith upfront this has happened twice now and has not worked.
The 5-2-3 does seem to work for us
