    Ben Thompson

This Jed playing behind the striker does work for me because he simply doesn't have the composure or thought process to execute the right thing ( e.g. last night around 2/3rds of the way through the 2nd half) we broke and had an extra man. All Jed had to do was play a simple sideways pass to...

FA Youth Cup tie tonight 27/02/20

Fairly lengthy, by Millwall standards, article in last night's Evening Standard about the allocation of tickets and Millwall complaining to the FA. Probably old news, but only 2700 tickets for tonight's game (1700 Chelski and 1000 Millwall) in a stadium that holds 41000+! :shake:

    Playoffs

Can't see it happening, but at least we won't be involved in another relegation fight this season.

    Ben Thompson

For me we desperately need a player like Alex Rae who could drive through the middle, beat players, pick a pass, get into the box, let fly shots from outside and capable of a dozen goals per season. I don't see any of our current squad, not even Ben, being able to match Rae and, sadly, can't...

    A few observations

I don't think it's just the forwards. When we reach the final 1/3rd of the pitch we seem to run out of ideas and decent chances are not being created. I like Molumby and Woods but something that concerns me is their lack of height being woefully exposed and them hardly winning a header in...

    Just back

Went to the game and sent the following text to my son, who was watching on Sky: "Fell asleep, woken by the Ref blowing his whistle for half-time. Did I miss anything?" 45 minutes of dross :shake:

    R.I.P Ray Brand

Remember the Northampton sending off well. I think their player was Colin Gale (could be wrong) a stylish centre half who had Ray Brand, playing up front that day, in his pocket. Brand got frustrated and whacked Gale who was out cold before he hit the floor. Both got sent off, albeit Gale was...

    Hutch in doubt

If GR persists with 5 at the back next season I expect Murray to move to the middle of the central 3, and be very good there, and a new signing filling the LB vacancy. No problem with Murray moving to the centre tomorrow and Fergie playing LB.

    Ipcress File (1965) nw

My uncle's house in St Agnes Place backed onto the "cinders" football pitch and, when a grocers boy, I made many deliveries there. The park also had a fabulous well maintained garden that, I assume due to cost cutting, is no longer there.

    Ipcress File (1965) nw

Watched the Ipcress File (recorded over Xmas) this afternoon for the 1st time. Decent film but the reason for this post is I noticed the Band Concert scenes were filmed in Kennington Park using the Bandstand that I suspect is no longer there. Brought back memories of the park that played a...

    New imigration rules proposals N/W

I'll be interested to see the impact on the cost of food (that isn't harvested mechanically), hotels and restaurants and the quality of service of the latter 2.
