How long have you been going Wall?

100 years less than Paris...55 years.

It was with my dad, April 1966, versus Swansea (W 1-0).
Fourth game from the end of the season. That season we got promoted from the old 3rd Division (runners up to Hull).

I seem to remember that we were promoted with 8 points to spare, so maybe that was the game that clinched promotion? Probably one for Whisky to answer.

It was back when it was 2 points for a win, 3:15pm KO's at The Den, being lifted over the Turnstiles, along with a lot of piss on the terraces.

My first recollection of football was in 1959 after the Munich air crash. I was 10. We used to get the SLP every week and I remember seeing something about it in the sports pages where I also saw a Millwall match report. Didn’t know I had a local team so went to the next home game with my best mate. I think it was against Torquay United. I remember Reg Davies, Alf Ackerman and The Brady Brothers. I was hooked!
Used to live on Peckham Road, near Oliver Goldsmith School, so just a 4 mile walk there and back every fortnight.
The rest is, as they say, history.

I officially nailed my colours to the Millwall mast in 1966. I’m not saying I’ve been to every game at the two Den’s since that time but I’ve seen plenty of them.

Prior to that I had been to quite a few matches at the Den anyway. The first kit I remember seeing in person was the white with a blue band. Some of the players I remember were Reg Davis, Pat Terry, Dave Jones, Joe Broadfoot.

1956, taken by my Godmother, my younger brother went as well. My Godmother started in 1948 is now 91 years of age and is a season ticket holder. I wonder if she is our oldest attending supporter? Her home is filled with Millwall items, on her front door is a sign that says “Millwall supporter lives here” better than the beware of dog sign. The people of the village she lives in refer to her as Millwall.

I'm humbled by this. 1956. That's fantastic, Lion. My story is different from probably all of you. I was originally United, a Cockney Red. First game at Millwall was in 1974 with United when I ran up a floodlight. Guested against Ipswich in 1978 but started going wall properly in 1994. Couldn't get to United games easily, bored with the easy success they were getting and found Millwall fit me like a glove. Since then I've made so many friends at Millwall, had so many fantastic experiences. Love the club with all my heart. But I know it's not the usual route and just thank all those who accepted me as they did, especially given how tight-knit it is down Millwall.

Saw my first Millwall game when I was 10 in 1953. My Dad used to work 3 Saturdays in 4 and if he was off when Millwall were at Home he would take me so only saw a handful of matches for the next 3 years, Then in 1956 I got myself a paper round and used the money to got to every Home game from then on. I havn't been for the last 8 years due to ill health.

Fantastic Dens. Sorry to hear you’ve been unwell.
