When I was about 6 or 7, and this was in the mid 80s, I claimed to support Liverpool (who were winning everything).
My Dad and Grandad were having none of it - they both can't stand scousers and took me to the Old Den. 1st game was against Cloughie's Forest. Drew 2-2 with a last min equaliser...
I enjoyed watching the team that played under Rioch. Mghee side was decent and played pretty direct football at times. The two can be combined if you've got the right players.
KJ almost had it going but we didn't/couldn't sign Wood. Millwall is always about the "what ifs" unfortunately!
I wouldn't change the back four but otherwise this team looks decent (on paper). Either Sav or Billy in midfield if Lenny stays at rightback.
Miiiiiiiiiiii
I've commented before that I never rated Livermore but will acknowledge he was part of one of my favourite millwall teams. His equivalent in the current team is possibly Billy Mitchell, both 100% committed but lack a bit of technical ability imho.
Yeah, I get it. And it's getting results/points so certainly no big issue if Harris sticks with Billy and Sav.
I just think that at home, we should try to take it to the opposition and that means having a ball player in the middle of the park.
I can see Harris making a couple of changes to give us some fresh legs at Blackburn.
I'd give Sav a rest and play Casper and use Longman on the left instead of Watmore.
I wouldn't change the back four, kept a decent clean sheet. We need Mitchell to do the donkey work but otherwise, your suggested 11 is probably the best/most solid team available.
Potentially agree that Harris might not be the long term option as manager but I'm not having he was an average player. Pre-cancer, when he scored 30 goals in league 1, he was destined to be a top player. Not as good as Sheringham but that doesn't make him average.
No it won't.
If we stay up, he gets all the (deserved) credit. If we do down, then it is clearly JE and the Millwall board's fault. He is also very well qualified to get us back up if the worst case scenario happens.
